Abstract
In stratified random sampling when the same number of units is to be selected from all strata the efficiency of strata of equal aggregate size is tested on four theoretical distributions. It is found that the principle of equipartition produces poor boundaries when the number of strata is large. An explanation is given why it is so.Keywords
