Abstract
The biochemical characteristics and photosynthetic activities of chloroplast membranes of the two regions of the green tomato fruit were compared to those of the leaves which were taken as controls. Membranes may have qualitatively (and even quantitatively) identical components, such as lipids and chlorophylls, and yet have different photosynthetic abilities.
