Expansion of LiF under Neutron Irradiation

Abstract
The strain gauge method is applied to the relative linear expansion of LiF under neutron irradiation. The result is (9.9±0.3)× per thermal neutrons. An estimate of the number of displacements is in adequate agreement with theory.
