Abstract
A new antibiotic-producing sp., Emericellopsis microsgora Backus and Orpurt, belonging to the small-spored section of the genus, is described. It occurs in considerable abundance in the soil of wet prairies in Wisconsin. Emericellopsis terricola var. glabra van-Beyma is raised to species rank as E. glabra (van Beyma) Backus and Orpurt, and an Australian isolate which is a strong producer of celphalosporins has been referred to this taxon. Observations on the effect of certain environal factors on growth and development in various species of Emericellopsis are reported. This publication has 7 references indexed in Scilit:
