Abstract
The morphology and structure of C. fasciculata has been studied by scanning microscopy and after freeze-etch preparation. The results thus obtained have been compared with those obtained after routine processing of organisms by chemical fixation and plastic embedment. Essentially no differences in structure were observed by the different methods but freeze-etching revealed additionally details of both the inner and outer membrane surfaces of the body and flagellum of the organism, deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) of the kinetoplast, and the micro tubular system. Keywords
