Abstract
The EPR spectra of d1 ions in glasses are computer simulated taking into account distributions of the components of the g tensor resulting from the structural disorder. By fitting to the experimental spectrum for Mo5+ ions in BaO-P2O5 glass, the following mean values of the spin Hamiltonian parameters are obtained: gx0=1.941, gy0=1.923, gz0=1.888. The corresponding distribution widths are: Delta gx=0.0077; Delta gy=0.0067; Delta sigz=0.0084. From these values, the authors estimate that the random variations of Mo-O distances in glass are about 1%.Keywords
