Abstract
254 strains of staphylococci, previously studied biologically, were phage-typed and classified into 3 groups according to the pattern of lysis. Strains from animal sources fell largely into one group, or were untypable. 64% of all the untypable strains were from animals. There appears to be an association between phage grouping and other properties of the animal strains, while human strains show no such correlation. Keywords
