Abstract
Unless an air rifle is declared to be specially dangerous an owner does not require a firearms certificate under the Firearms Act, 1937, though a licence under the Gun Licence Act, 1870, is needed. The case described here shows that an ordinary air rifle can cause a fatal accident and suggests the stricter enforcement of the licensing provision. Keywords
