Abstract
Leaves of Phoenix reclinata respond both to high temperature and to water-strain with sudden and marked increase in their minimum intercellular-space carbon-dioxide concentration. The leaves of Phoenix reclinata which had been grown in the open country did not suffer a significant after-effect from being exposed to experimentally imposed water-strain.
