Abstract
The principal function of a pathology laboratory computer is no longer data acquisition.sbd.that is, the on-line monitoring of an analytical instrument producing an analogue signal. When using modern analytical equipment the main problem is the storage of results so that they can be recalled as necessary to produce reports, answer inquiries, and provide the additional facilities needed by the laboratory staff to make the maximum use of the information. The Phoenix system is a computer system designed for these purposes. The functions of the system and the way in which the programs operate is described. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
