Abstract
Cyclic anhydrides constitute one of the most thoroughly studied classes of organic compounds. In contrast, very little is as yet known concerning the thiocarbonyl analogs of cyclic anhydrides. In this lecture, the present status of thionoanhydride chemistry will be reviewed, with emphasis on studies from our laboratory. Keywords
