Abstract
Although the cement industry is well established in India, white cement is not manufactured as the necessary raw materials, which have to be free from iron, are not available. The sludge after the recovery of potash from felspar is a suitable raw material for making white cement, as it contains all the necessary ingredients for making cement and these are more or less free from iron. The cement from the sludge of the digestion process is light green in colour while that from the sludge in the calcination process is white. The cement has good setting property. Keywords
