Abstract
My purpose in this paper is to introduce a photographic method of recording the form and size of surface capillaries, and the technic is here applied to the study of a single case. It is, however, obvious that no conclusions as to the number of normal variations can be reached from the examination of these few photographs. An attempt will be made at a later date to classify normal capillary morphology, and its variations, from photographs taken from a large series of proved normal individuals. It may be said in passing that, without knowledge of these variations, many capillaries that appear grossly abnormal will fall into normal groups. A knowledge of these variations in form is, of course, necessary to the correct appreciation of any altered morphology that actually may be present in pathologic conditions.
