Abstract
A nummerical solution to the coupled Reynolds, elasticity, and energy equations for the pressure, temperature, and film thickness between two heavily loaded rolling and sliding cylinders is obtained. The analysis of the energy equation is based on a mean viscosity across the film. Results for a thermal case with a slip ratio of 0.25 as well as an isothermal solution are presented. Pressure peak is found near the exit of the film for cases with or without thermal effects and the influence of the temperature on the film thickness is moderate. Keywords
