Abstract
A child who survived with probable unilateral renal cortical necrosis is presented. The kidney that was not as severely involved by cortical necrosis was chronically obstructed at the uteropelvic junction. Chronic uteropelvic obstruction protected rabbit kidneys from cortical necrosis during the generalized Schwartzman reaction. Keywords
