Abstract
The urinary 17-ketosteroid (17KS) excretion is depressed in hepatic disease. After the injn. of 100 mg. of testosterone propionate, the appearance of extra 17KS in addition to the pre-injn. control levels was less in patients with liver disease than in normal subjects. This apparently reflects reduced hepatic oxidation of the 17-OH in testosterone. The admn. of vit. B complex failed to alter the rate of transformation of testosterone to 17KS.This publication has 16 references indexed in Scilit:
