Abstract
Following experiments on inhomogeneously doped semiconductors which exhibited an elevation of the superconducting transition temperature due to the softening of phonons associated with a phase transition, the phonon spectrum in these alloys of PbTe, SnTe, and GeTe has been computed and has been found to imply an elevation of Tc in the homogeneous alloys. Keywords
