Abstract
Cobra venom and Cardiotoxin stop the isolated toad heart in systole. They also cause contraction in rabbit muscle but do not act on actomyosin or the glycerinated psoas fiber. It is concluded that the toxin acts on the membrane of the muscle fiber. Its action is irreversible and cannot be washed out. Keywords
