Abstract
Head-capsule widths of feeding and prepupal larvae of the yellowheaded spruce sawfly, Pikonema alaskensis (Rohwer), were measured to determine the number of stadia. It was found that males have 5 stadia, and females have either 5 or 6. Parasitism has no effect on headcapsule width. The sex of prepupal larvae was determined. Keywords
