Abstract
The composition of positive plate material formed (a) from positive pastes of various densities, (b) in aqueous sulfuric acid solutions of various specific gravities, (c) at various rates (current densities), and (d) at various temperatures has been studied. Variations in these conditions not only influence the total content of the formed material, but also the ratio of to in the formed material. The presence of in the positive plate material is attributed to the pH of the electrolyte within the paste during its development. A method for estimating the amounts of and in mixtures of the two is also described.
