Abstract
Hemin, K ferricyanide, and pyruvate are reversing agents for isoniazid; in their presence, killing of the H37Rv strain of Mycobacterium tuberculosis var. hominis was not accomplished after 5 wks. of exposure to 1000 [mu]g. isoniazid/ml. As little as 0.6 [mu]g hemin/ml accomplished such reversal, and revived cells were still isoniazid sensitive. Although these expts. employed resting cells, similar results were obtained with growing tubercle bacilli.
