Abstract
We examine the short-distance quantum-chromodynamic corrections to the elementary electroweak process within the four-quark model with the Glashow-Iliopoulos-Maiani mechanism incorporated. The bare result is found to be modified by a factor around - 1. We also consider the loop within the six-quark model of Kobayashi and Maskawa. The effect of the extension to six quarks seems to be of order 10% of the four-quark-model result.
