Abstract
Three difficulties associated with Prony's method are studied. These are the extension of the method to allow multiple poles, the development of techniques for determining the number of poles contained in the transient data, and the effects of noise in the data on the numerical procedures. Solutions to these difficulties are studied, and numerical samples are presented. Keywords
