Abstract
The differential equations for the ladder approximation to a transmission line are computationally inattractive due to the high value of the spectral radius (high frequencies of oscillation) of the resulting equations. Existing methods for the evaluation of the transient response of the transmission lines generally consider either lossless or distortionless lines. Some methods include losses. All methods with the exception of the ladder representation use the principle of superposition and cannot therefore be used for lines with non-linear parameters. Keywords
