Abstract
Observations of fleas Dasypsyllus g. gallinulae (Dale) and Ceratophyllus g. gallinae (Schrank) on used tit nestboxes were made throughout the year. Peak emergence occurred in the spring, coinciding with peak bird nesting activity. Emergence continued over the whole year. Observations of fleas jumping from boxes showed a greater willingness to jump onto warm, matt and moving objects rather than cold, shiny motionless ones. Keywords
