Social Aspects of Epilepsy in Childhood

Abstract
SUMMARY: There is a generally known interaction between epilepsy and social environment. The influence of this interaction on the epileptic child can become manifest in behaviour and adjustment, and in the frequency of seizures.In this connection, family and school are discussed as the main constituents of the background of childhood epilepsy.A few remarks are made on the organization of management and treatment.RÉSUMÉ: Il y a une action réciproque bien connue entre l'épilepsie et le milieu social. L'influence de cette action réciproque sur l'enfant épileptique peut devenir manifeste dans le comportement et l'adaptation, et dans la fréquence des crises.La discussion porte sur la famille et l'école, principaux constituants de l'arrièreplan de l'épilepsie chez l'enfant. On émet quelques considérations sur l'organisation du maniement de ces enfants et sur leur traitement.Keywords
