Hyperparathyroidism Presenting as a Giant-Cell Tumor of the Middle Cranial Fossa

Abstract
A case of hyperparathyroidism is presented in which diagnosis was suspected when a giant-cell tumor of the middle cranial fossa was discovered. No previous case of a "brown tumor" in this location has ever been reported as the presenting manifestation of hyperparathyroidism. The necessity of serum calcium and phosphorus determinations in cases of giant cell tumors of the jaw and cranial bones is stressed.
