Closure of the Nasal Septum Perforation

Abstract
PERFORATION of the nasal septum is very disagreeable because of the annoying symptoms. Various operations have been suggested for closure. The common characteristic of all the reconstructive methods reported in the literature is the use, for closure, of a mucous membrane flap from the septum or another part of the nose. Cartilage1and skin flaps2have also been used to close old perforations. The difference in these surgical procedures is in the site from which the flap is taken and in the manner in which it is used to close the perforation. According to many authors these procedures can be applied only in small or medium perforations. Even if the perforation closes, disturbances of the physiological functions of the nose may be the end result of the operation. Thus these procedures are not always satisfactory and a larger perforation may be needed after the operation. My method is
