Evaluation ofEntamoeba histolyticaAntigen and Antibody Point-of-Care Tests for the Rapid Diagnosis of Amebiasis

Abstract
The bedside diagnosis of amebiasis could improve patient care. In Bangladesh and Vietnam, a novel and simple-to-useEntamoeba histolyticarapid antigen test had 97% sensitivity and 100% specificity compared to the results of a standard enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay antigen detection method, and a rapid antibody test had 89 to 100% sensitivity and 89 to 95% specificity.
