Abstract
Single spore progeny (173) from a cross of two homokaryotic lines derived from a four-spored basidium were characterized etectrophoretically. Loci segregated in ratios similar to those of four-spored mushrooms. Linkage of two peptidase loci was detected (r = 0.078). Gene to centromere distances were determined for the two peptidase loci (Pep-1, r = 0.118; Pep-2, r = 0.196) and for the independent locus encoding for aspartate aminotransferase (r = 0.084). A nonrandom segregation of centromeres at metaphase II was postulated to account for the phenotypic distributions observed. Sister centromeres apparently migrate preferentially into the same spore instead of into opposite spores as is characteristic for this species. This publication has 8 references indexed in Scilit:
