Abstract
Cryptococcus neoformans was accidentally inoculated intracutaneously into the finger of an apparently normal human without any resulting evidence that infection had occurred, indicating that this fungus is probably not pathogenic for normal individuals. This is in contrast to results when several other fungi capable of causing deep mycoses have been similarly inoculated, in which the chancriform syndrome developed. Keywords
