Immunoidentification of Transcortin-like Material within the Adenohypophysis

Abstract
Several lines of evidence previously established the presence of at least 2 glucocorticoid binders in the cytosol of the adenohypophysis. One of these binders exhibited physicochemical properties closely similar to those of plasma transcortin or CBG [corticosteroid binding globulin], with respect to steroid specificity, dissociation constant and sedimentation coefficient in sucrose gradient. The transcortin-like compound (TL cpd) was further characterized by carrying out immunological studies using antibodies raised against rat CBG.
