DNCB — Reactivity and Skin Irritation

Abstract
To the Editor: Sensitization tests with 2,4-dinitrochlorobenzene (DNCB) are used routinely as a measure for cell-mediated immune reactivity. In an article in the Journal Johnson and his co-workers1 presented some evidence, however, that may lead to the assumption that failure to respond to DNCB may be caused by a defective inflammatory response rather than by a faulty cellular immune recognition or responsiveness.
