Abstract
IN THE DESIGN of an industrial plant, it is the function of the electrical engineer to determine what type of power system is required. This paper describes methods for the analysis of the relative reliability of different types of industrial power systems and the economic evaluation of the improvement in reliability which results with alternative types of systems. From this, the incremental investment that can be justified can be determined. Keywords
