Abstract
The author has considered the subject in question and has taken his final position, which coincides with that of Gallizia. The main point of the essay is that the bladder neck should be regarded as belonging to the genital system and as having a special role in the genital function. The opinion that the bladder neck is involved in the mechanism of urinary continence is unfounded, if not rejective. Keywords
