Abstract
Studies of the luminescence of thermochromic crystalline anils at various temperatures and with a number of wavelengths of exciting light suggest that this luminescence is the counterpart of the thermally produced absorption band, i.e., that the same ground and excited states are involved in the two transitions. The fluorescence spectra are markedly temperature-sensitive, and an attempt is made to interpret this sensitivity in terms of reabsorption. Keywords
