Abstract

The new compounds Ca₉Cd₄Bi₉, Sr₉Cd₄Bi₉ and Ca₉Zn₄Sb₉ crystallize in the orthorhombic system (Pbam) in the Ca₉Mn₄Bi₉ structure with the following constants: Ca₉Cd₄Bi₉: a = 2258 ± 2 pm, b = 1278 ± 1 pm, c = 474 ± 1 pm. Sr₉Cd₄Bi₉: a = 2347 ± 2 pm, b = 1327 ± 1 pm, c = 489 ± 1 pm. Ca₉Zn₄Sb₉: a = 2192 ± 2 pm, b = 1250 ± 1 pm, c = 454 ± 1 pm.
