Abstract
Contrary to the idea that nursing students are intrinsically motivated, findings in research studies show that students repeatedly report the significance of positive feedback to them. Delivery of positive reinforcement by clinical instructors can be developed so that the reinforcement is more meaningful to students and more effective in promoting or maintaining desired student behaviors. Keywords
