Abstract
A natural way to obtain quintessence, i.e. negative pressure contributions in cosmological dynamics and then accelerated behavior of the Hubble fluid, is to take into account a torsion fluid whose effects become relevant at large scale. We investigate a model where a totally antisymmetric torsion field is taken into account and discuss the conditions to obtain quintessence. We obtain exact solutions where dust dominated Friedmann behavior is recovered as soon as torsion effects are not relevant. Keywords
