Abstract
The authors study charge exchange and excitation to the 2p state of hydrogen in collisions of He+ with a hydrogen atom. The incident 4He+ energy is between 0.750 and 30 keV. They generalise an earlier configuration interaction method based on one-electron diatomic molecule (OEDM) orbitals. They demonstrate that screened OEDM orbitals can be used which increases the flexibility of the basis. Total and differential cross sections are calculated and compared with experiments and other theories. Keywords
