Immune Complexes in Minimal-Change Glomerulopathy

Abstract
To the Editor: In 1978 Levinsky et al.1 reported the presence of IgG-containing complexes in serum samples from 39 children presumed to have minimal-change nephropathy because of the steroid responsiveness of their nephrotic syndrome. There was a striking absence of C1q binding complexes. The levels of IgG complexes were shown to be high early in relapse and to decline in remission.We have used Levinsky and Soothill's latex-agglutination-inhibition assays2 and a solid-phase C1q binding assay3 to study immune complexes in 36 serum samples from 24 adults who had minimal-change disease that was defined clinically in terms of relapsing course and . . .
