Abstract
Attention is drawn to the complex etiology of meningitis which may be obscured by stereotyped chemotherapy. Three cases are descr., a dermoid cyst involving the frontal lobes, a glioblastoma multiforme invading frontal and parietal lobes and a cerebral varix in the region of the 3d ventricle. In each instance there were initial signs and symptoms of meningitis. Intracranial neoplasms should be accorded an important place in the etiology of meningitis. Any meningitis which takes an unusual course should be viewed with suspicion and further studies done to determine the etiology. Keywords
