Abstract
Fifty patients in a postalcoholic state received Tolserol (mephenesin or beta-dihydroxy-(2-methyl-phenoxy)-propane. Marked reduction or elimination of tremulousness and gastrointestinal disturbances occurred within forty eight hours. A less potent but positive effect was noted on the subjective state, but no effect on sleep disturbances. The optimum dosage of Tolserol was 2-2.5 g. per day in divided doses. Keywords
