Abstract
87 ileocolic preparations are studied by means of postmortem arteriography combined with dissection and corrosion. The ileocolic stem is to be continued beyond the colic and ileal branches up to its division into the caecal branches. This allows to distinguish a long ileocolic trunk which is the direct origin of the different tributaries and which ends into one or both caecal arteries. An arteria colica dextra from the ileocolic artery cannot be supported. Many rules are established that govern the relations between the various collaterals, and several conclusions of theoretical and practical importance are made. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
