Structural investigations of spray-deposited CdS films doped with Cu, In and Ga

Abstract
The structures of pure and doped Cds films containing different ratios of cadmium to sulphur ions, prepared by the chemical spray deposition process, have been investigated by X-ray diffraction. It is found that the crystalline perfection is best when the cadmium to sulphur ion ratio is 1 : 3 and the substrate temperature is 500°C. The preferred orientation of crystallites undergoes a change on doping with Cu and In, but not with Ga.
