Abstract
Qualities of college professors on 10 statements as viewed by 270 high-achieving and 210 low-achieving students were described. Most of the students attribute greatest importance to the teaching role of their professors. The high-achieving students would like their professors to guide them toward independent thinking whereas the low achievers seem to be more concerned with the course organization, presentation of subject matter, and the grading procedures of their professors. Keywords
