Abstract
A method is presented for calculating the off-energy-shell two-body reaction matrix elements for a local potential that contains a hard core. An analytic expression is presented for the matrix elements, , for the special case of a hard-core potential with no other interaction. Graphs are presented showing the effects of the hard core for negative values of the energy parameter and relative-angular-momentum states, using a potential of exponential shape and parameters chosen to approximate the nucleon-nucleon interaction.
