Abstract
Imagery data and in situ measurements of interest for solar‐terrestrial physics and meteorological and snow and ice research are available from a new Defense Meteorological Satellite Program (DMSP) satellite launched December 20, 1982. The images are both visual and infrared with a spatial resolution of 2.8 km. The in situ data are precipitating electrons and protons, topside ionospheric plasma, and bremsstrahlung X rays. Through the cooperation of the U.S. Air Force, the data are available from the Boulder data centers—the National Geophysical Data Center operated by NOAA and the collaborating National Snow and Ice Data Center. Keywords
