Abstract
The problem considered is a horizontal electric dipole which is located above or below the plane surface of a conducting half-space. Expressions for the fields are obtained using three different approaches. The formulas developed are quite simple and, taken together, the whole range of distances from the far-zone to the near-zone is adequately covered. Keywords
