Abstract
Immature larvae of the peach twig borer, Anarsia lineatella Zell., began to emerge from hibernacula on almond trees as early as January 29, or during the pinkbud period for almonds in northern California, 1958. The last of these larvae to emerge attained the full-fed or mature condition on May 8, in the late jacket period. Periodic samplings of hibernacula and of larvae removed from twig mines showed that almost the entire population of winter generation larvae was concentrated in the active feeding stage for only 25 days, March 17 to April 11. Applicability of these data to the behavior of the corresponding generation on peach trees and adjustments of dates for variations between seasons are discussed. This publication has 0 references indexed in Scilit:
